Dropping off & Picking up

School sessions

Morning session: 8.45am – 12.00pm
Afternoon session: 1.00pm – 3.10pm

Dropping off

Pupils are expected to arrive at school no earlier than 8.35am, when the pupils’ entrances open. Responsibility cannot be accepted for the children on the premises before the start of the school day.

Doors close at 8.45am, after which time children must be taken to the school office and signed in. Pupils arriving after 8.45am will be marked as “Late” in the registers.

Picking up

At the end of the day:

  • Foundation and KS1 staff will release the children from the same doors as those used in the mornings.
  • Year 3 staff will release the children from the same doors as those used in the mornings.
  • Year 4, 5 and 6 staff will bring the children out to the front playground.

Staff will be available for parents and carers who wish to speak to them.

When picking up arrangements change:

We ask that parents or carers inform the class teacher or the school office on 01488 658 336. Staff will not release a child to any adult outside normal arrangements unless his/her parents or carers have confirmed the arrangements directly with school staff.

Pupils and their family are expected to leave school premises promptly at the end of the afternoon session. Responsibility cannot be accepted for the children on the premises after the end of the school day.

Expected behaviour

It is forbidden to ride scooters or bikes on the school grounds. Pupils and their siblings should dismount before the pedestrian gate. Bikes and scooters must left under the bike shed in an orderly fashion. The school cannot be held responsible for any bikes or scooters left on the premises overnight.

Pupils and their siblings are also prohibited from playing on the play apparatus before and after school as any accident would not be covered by our school insurance.

During winter, we ask that all school pupils and visitors carefully follow any instructions, notices or signalling and avoid any areas which might not have been cleared from ice or snow.

We kindly ask for parents’ and carers’ co-operation in making sure children follow these rules.
