Collective Worship

The school has strong links with St Mary’s Church. We provide opportunities for collective worship to the whole school community, which reflect our Christian ethos whilst being inclusive of all other religions and beliefs.

Collective worship helps pupils develop an understanding of the nature and language of Christian worship by demonstrating its relevance to our daily lives. It celebrates the Christian values of the school which promote care and respect towards everyone and an appreciation of unique individual gifts and talents. Collective worship also enables and encourages everyone to explore their own beliefs and develop their own spirituality.

We gather together for worship on a daily basis either as a school or in a variety of smaller groups. We also regularly worship in Church with the rest of our local community. We support and encourage pupils to take an active role in developing, participating in and leading collective worships. Prayers are often written and shared by our pupils.
