Curriculum

We aim for our curriculum provision to be broad and inspirational, and to provide the right amount of challenge for all pupils.

Pupils at Kintbury St Mary’s school learn more than subject knowledge; they learn skills to succeed in all situations. We call these good learning behaviours. These include independence, good communication and resilience when things don’t go to plan.

The school follows the National Curriculum 2014 and details of the subject leader for each area can be found on our staff page.

A termly curriculum map for each class detailing topics and skills covered can be found on the individual class pages.

We provide specialist tuition for musicand sports.

We believe that children thrive on memorable events and activities to support their learning and we encourage visits and visitors to bring subjects to life. These include drama and debating workshops, anxiety workshops, Life Bus visits (PSHE), science days, first aid training for pupils, etc., often generously supported by our PTA.

We value practical experiences and opportunities to make the most of outdoor learning and our local learning resources.
