Adventurers set off
22 May 2017
This morning we waved off our Year 5 children for their residential trip to PGL Hillcrest. They were very excited!
The trip will start with a visit to ‘The Big Pit’ where they will find out more about the history of mining in Wales and what it was like to be a miner, including a trip underground to see firsthand the environment in which they worked. Following a picnic lunch, they will continue on to Hillcrest where they will have a chance to settle in to their rooms and prepare for the week ahead which will include climbing, fencing, raft building, archery and problem solving to name just a few activities.
The programme of activities is extensive, but we expect the most valuable outcomes will be in developing those personal skills which are so important in all areas of life. Each child will grow in self confidence with every challenge they overcome and they will return to us as a stronger team of children bonded by the mutual support and respect they have shared together on this trip.
